CHITRADURGA: Three people died in a serial accident involving two trucks and a container truck on National Highway-4 near Seebara village in the taluk early on Wednesday. The three deceased were in one of the trucks transporting watermelons.
The deceased include the driver of the truck carrying watermelons, Periyasamy (27), hailing from Tamil Nadu, and two others hailing from Haryana. Their identitied were not yet established.
Due to the crash, watermelons were strewn across the road while the container truck had blocked the road, affecting traffic movement for some time. The trucks were later cleared from the highway to allow for traffic.
Additional SP Kumaraswamy and Deputy SP Dinakar visited the spot. A case has been registered at the Chitradurga Rural police station.
