BIDAR: Ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls, the police have seized thousands of sarees which were being distributed to women voters in Bhalki on Monday.
As the Karnataka Assembly elections 2023 are approaching, the politics of gifting is going on in many places. On Monday, Congress workers went to many houses in Bhalki Nagar to distribute packets of sarees with the portrait of KPCC working president Eshwar Khandre.
Bhalki BJP ticket aspirant D K Sidram and workers arrived and were overseeing the distribution by Congress workers. At that time, there was a verbal altercation between BJP and Congress workers. Bhalki police came to the spot on getting information and seized thousands of saree boxes and took them to the station. BJP leaders and workers protested at Bhalki Patta Gandhi Circle against MLA Eshwar Khandre who distributed sarees to women voters and sought the police to arrest the MLA immediately.
