DAVANAGERE: Thieves stole a mobile phone and used UPI to transfer money from the victim’s bank accounts. The incident occurred at the Davangere city corporation bus stand. The victim is a senior citizen from Saraswati Nagar, who had his mobile phone stolen.
The thieves used the stolen phone to make UPI transactions and transferred approximately Rs 1.44 lakh from three different bank accounts. A case has been registered at the cyber crime police station in connection with the incident.
