CHIKKABALLAPUR: Thieves have stolen over 80 pigs from two villages in a single day in Chikkaballapur district. The incident occurred in Bhinnamangala village of Doddaballapur taluk.
Thieves broke into a pig shed near a farmhouse belonging to a farmer named Diwakar at Bhairasandra village and stole 30 pigs. The thieves pushed the farmer’s Bolero vehicle parked across the pig shed into a ditch and stole the pigs. The thieves escaped after stealing half of the pigs because a car came during the theft of the pigs.
In another incident, thieves stole 49 pigs from a farm belonging to a farmer named Lokesh in Bhinnamangala village. The thieves were caught on a CCTV camera while escaping with the pigs. The police have registered cases at the Vishwanathapura and Doddaballapur rural police stations.
Following the incident, pig farmers are anxious and have urged the police to catch the thieves as soon as possible. The thieves targeted the farmers who were planning to sell the pigs ahead of the Ugadi festival.
