Thieves break into estate owner’s house, make away with valuables worth Rs 10 lakh

The thieves had gained entry by removing the roof tiles and opening the rear door.

HASSAN: Thieves broke into the house of an estate owner when no one was at home and made away with valuables worth over Rs 10 lakh. The theft occurred at Donigal Estate in Sakleshpur taluk.

The house belongs to Sulochana Prakash who lost her husband and son recently. She was live with her daughter and grandchildren in Bengaluru. The theft came to light when she returned to her house.

Thieves had gained entry by opening the rear door after removing some roof tiles and made away with gold ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh which were kept in an almirah. The Sakleshpur police, along with the fingerprint and dog squads, visited the house and registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
