BENGALURU: Passengers on BMTC buses may do well to be extra careful while traveling alone on buses. A woman thief, who targeted solo women travelers after befriending them and offered spiked juice, and then stole mobile phones, handbags and jewellary after the victim lost consciousness has been arrested by the Byatarayanapura police.
The woman thief was identified as Latha, a native of Andhra Pradesh. During arrest, Latha consumed chocolate laced with poison and collapsed at the police station. The police then admitted her to Victoria Hospital.
A case has been registered at the Byatarayana police station and further investigation is under way.
