Thick smoke detected on Hassan-Solapur train, resumes journey after fault rectified

Anxious passengers had quickly got off the train on Monday morning.

KALABURAGI: Thick smoke was notice on the Hassan-Solapur Express train (No. 11312) near Maratura in Shahbad taluk due to brake binding fault, early on Monday morning. The incident led to anxiety among the passengers.

A pointman, who noticed the smoke, waved the red hand signal and brought the train to a halt. The smoke was detected in coach CR 227454 LS-5 after which it was put out and the brake binding fault rectified after which the train resumed its journey.

While the train crew and railway employees were rectifying the brake binding, the anxious passengers had got off the train. The incident led to the train being delayed for some time.
