BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has invited bids for three packages worth Rs 4,187 crore, which include double-decker flyovers. Tenders for the remaining stretch are expected soon.
Package 1 will run a 6.52-km stretch from JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kamakya Junction, with four double-decker stations. Package 2 will be a 5.4-km stretch from Hoskerehalli to Nagarbhavi Circle, with four double-decker stations. The third package of 6.6 km stretch will have three double-decker stations and one single-decker station at Sunkadakatte.
QR code-based passes
The BMRCL has also introduced mobile QR code-based 1, 3, and 5-day unlimited travel passes for commuters. With this, there will be no more waiting in lines or depositing Rs 50. Now, you can buy passes online through the BMRCL website and scan the QR code at gates to travel.
Starting January 15, commuters can get one-day pass for Rs250, threeday pass for 550 and five-day pass for Rs 850.
