HYDERBAD(Telangana): An advocate has filed a complaint against former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman, board members and officials over Tirupati Prasadam row.
Advocate K. Karuna Sagar has submitted a complaint to the Saidabad Police Station in Hyderabad, alleging that they allowed the use of low-quality ghee mixed with animal fat in the sacred Laddu Prasadam offered at Tirupati Venkateshwara Swamy temple.
In his complaint, advocate Sagar said, “As a practicing Hindu and devoted follower of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy, I hold the Laddu Prasadam in the highest esteem. This offering has been an integral part of our faith for over 300 years, symbolizing divine blessings and serving as an essential component of the spiritual experience. A visit and darshan of Swamy feels incomplete without it.”
“Today, I was shocked to see the lab test report confirming the use of ghee with animal fat in the preparation of the world-famous Tirupati Laddu Prasadam. The subsequent confirmation from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams board has only heightened my concern,” he added.
He asserted further that the actions of the individuals mentioned are malicious.
“The Laddu Prasadam is offered to Sri Venkateshwara Swamy of Tirumala before being distributed to devotees and using low-quality ghee mixed with animal fat defiles and insults the sanctity of the sacred Tirumala temple,” he said.
Advocate Sagar mentioned that this deeply hurts the religious sentiments of devotees of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy in particular and the Hindus at large, especially those who refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food.
“Therefore, I kindly request your office to investigate this matter and take appropriate action against the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Former CM of AP state, TTD Chairman, board members, and officials for undermining the sanctity of the Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple and for hurting the religious sentiments of millions of Hindus under sections 298 & 299 of IPC,” he added.
Earlier today, Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh emphasized that “nobody will be spared,” expressing that his own sentiments have also been hurt.
Targeting Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy, Lokesh said, “This happens when the CM doesnt have a vision. We personally also feel very bad. We are going to streamline the process of investigation”.
Reacting to the allegations, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged on Friday that the Telegu Desam Party (TDP) is “politicising religious matters.”
YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday said that he will write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and claimed that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has twisted the facts. (ANI)
