BENGALURU: With the pouring rai, Bengaluru’s chaotic traffic has just got worse. Techies and other office-goers are struggling to reach their offices in amid traffic jams. Now, some are opting for companies that offer work-from-home option just to avoid traffic woes.

Most techies are facing traffic issues to reach IT companies in Bellandur, Marathahalli, Electronics City and Bommanahalli. Therefore, IT employees are looking for rooms near their offices to avoid regular traffic problems.

With the monsoon, the traffic congestion even worsens. Thus, some employees are leaving companies that don’t offer work-from-home options to avoid traffic, and joining other firms which have favourable policies.

A techie shared his problem and said, “The number of vehicles on the road is increasing by the day, leading to more traffic congestion. We are fed up with this. During peak hours, it takes two hours to reach the office, causing frustration among employees. So, despite having my own house in the city, I was staying in a rented room near my office. I used to come home during the weekends. I think work-from-home is a better option in such a situation.”

Some companies have already started offering work-from-home options to their employees, while others are considering it.
