Techie who murdered parents claims he was being humiliated in front of others

BENGALURU: A shocking incident has rocked Bengaluru, where a software engineer allegedly killed his parents with a knife in their apartment in Vijnana Nagar under HAL police station limits. The victims were identified as Navin Chandra Bhat, 60, a retired Air Force Captain, and his wife Shyamala Bhat, 55, a doctor.

According to police, the accused Rohan Bhat stabbed his parents multiple times with a knife, leading to their death. They were taken to Manipal Hospital for treatment, but they succumbed to their injuries.

During interrogation, Rohan revealed that he had been facing constant criticism and humiliation from his parents, who would often scold him in front of others. He also alleged that his mother would mix sleeping pills in his milk.

The police have registered a case and arrested Rohan. The motive behind the murder appears to be financial disputes, with Rohan allegedly demanding Rs 4 lakh from his parents, which they refused.

Rohan had studied in the US and was working as an IT professional. His sister is settled abroad, and his parents were proud of her achievements, which allegedly added to Rohan’s frustration. The police are investigating the matter further to uncover the exact circumstances leading to the gruesome murder.
