BENGALURU: A tech professional, who was working for a private artificial intelligence firm in Bengaluru, committed suicide allegedly due to extreme work pressure. His body was found in Agara Lake and a case of unnatural death has been registered at the HSR Layout police station.
The deceased techie has been identified as Nikhil Somwanshi. An IISc graduate, Nikhil was working with a company in Koramangala. Nikhil’s colleagues have accused the manager of torturing Nikhil, which led to his suicide. They claim the US-based manager would often harassing new employees, leading several employees to quit.
According to colleagues, Nikhil was bright and talented. The company was facing losses and employees were resigning, resulting in increased workload and pressure. The manager would allegedly abuse employees, especially freshers, during meetings, and creating a traumatic work environment, they said.
