Techie arrested for raising pro-Pakistan slogan during Operation Sindoor

BENGALURU: A techie in Bengaluru was arrested for shouting pro-Pakistan slogans at a paying guest accommodation on May 9 around 12.30 am in Prashant Layout, Whitefield. The techie, Shubhanshu Shukla (26), was arrested.

Shukla, a native of Chhattisgarh, was working as a techie in Bengaluru and staying at the PG. During the celebrations of India’s success in ‘Operation Sindoor’, Shukla raised pro-Pakistan slogans from the balcony of his PG accommodation, alarming the youths nearby.

The police were informed and they took Shukla and another person into custody. After investigation, it was confirmed that Shukla had indeed shouted the pro-Pakistan slogans. He was arrested and is in the custody of Whitefield police.

Shukla claimed he was celebrating India’s success in ‘Operation Sindoor’ when the Indian army attacked Pakistan and shouted pro-India slogans from his PG balcony. However, when no one responded or came out, he got frustrated and decided to shout pro-Pakistan slogans to check if anyone would react.

His fellow PG residents captured a video of him shouting pro-Pakistan slogans from the window. They then informed the police by calling the emergency number 112. When the police arrived, the residents showed the video, which served as evidence. During the police investigation, the techie’s motives for shouting pro-Pakistan slogans came to light.
