BENGALURU: A woman techie, working with a wellknown IT company, has alleged that she was made a victim of ‘love jihad’ on the promise of marriage.
The techie, a resident of Bellandur, has lodged a complaint with the Hebbagodi police alleging that her partner was trying to convert her in the name of marriage after initially promising that they would go in for a registered marriage without any religious customs.
The woman, and the accused who hails from Kashmir, are working with an IT firm in Electronics City where they came to know each other. The accused is a resident of Shikaripalya in the city. The accused promised to marry the woman and even had a physical relationship with her, the FIR stated, and added that the promise of marriage was made only to cheat her.
“The complaint was initially lodged with the Bellandur police on September 7 and transferred to Hebbagodi police September 14. The two were working for a top IT firm and the victim has alleged sexual assault. We have information that the accused Mozil Ashraf Baig is presently in Jammu and Kashmir and we have sent a team to secure him.
