BALLARI: A Hindi teacher has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl after promising to marry. The incident occurred on Friday.
The accused Imran Khan is resident of Hanasi village in Hagaribommanahalli taluk and working as a part-time teacher at the Morarji residential at Hampasagara .
Imran Khan is said to have been in touch with the girl, who was his student, even after she had left school. According to sources, last week he took her to a friend’s house in Tiptur of Tumakuru distict promising her that he would get married to her. There he sexually abused the girls.
The teacher had allegedly sexually abused the girl earlier in 2019 at Kandagalu village in Kottur taluk. A case has been registered in Kottur police station in Vijayananagar district and the accused is being questioned. He has also been booked under various sections of Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
