Mumbai: Tata Power Solar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, said it had bagged an order for a 300 megawatts (MW) solar project worth Rs 1,731 crore from the government-run NHPC (National Hydroelectric Power Corporation).
The project site, located in Rajasthan, will be developed under the CPSU (Central Public Sector Undertaking) scheme of the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), Tata Power said in a statement.
The Tata Power project will be completed within 18 months, aims to reduce around 6,36,960 carbon emissions, and is expected to generate approximately 750 million units annually. It said that cells and modules made in India would be used in the project installation.

Tata Power Solar has already completed big projects such as 80 MW NTPC Jetsar, 50 MW Kasargod in Kerala, 100 MW GIPCL Raghanesda, 100 MW TPREL Raghanesda, and 30 MW GSECL. According to the business, another 50 MW solar plant with 50 MWh battery storage is now being built near Leh.
