MYSURU: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has warned the BJP leaders not to make negative statements about the party workers’ meeting and alliance, wherever they go. If the BJP maintains confidence in the alliance with JD(S), Target-28 (Lok Sabha seats) is possible, he told a meeting of party leaders.
In the last Assembly elections, despite campaigning by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, the people gave majority votes to the Congress party. Especially in Old Mysuru region, BJP did not win as much as they expected. Thus, Amit Shah, who has taken the Lok Sabha elections seriously, and has drawn up a master plan to secure the BJP’s base in the constituencies where the JD(S) has a stronghold with the Vokkaliga community.
In addition, he said, “We will decide on the BJP-JD(S) seat allocation and ticket distribution for the Lok Sabha seats. Party workers should complete the assigned tasks. If there is a small mistake in following the alliance rule, it will be difficult,” Shah warned at the cluster meeting in Mysuru.
BJP state president B Y Vijayendra said that Amit Shah has exhorted the leaders to strengthen the party at the booth level in Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan and Chamarajnagar and convert them into BJP votes.
