DAVANAGERE: A tanker carrying spirit fell off a flyover ramp near Mallashettyhalli on National Highway-46 on Saturday morning. The tanker was on its way from Bengaluru to Pune. The driver and his assistant escaped with minor injuries.
The spirit started leaking from the tanker after it fell, raising concern among locals. However, the Fire and Emergency Services personnel and Davanagere Rural police cordoned off the area and prevented any untoward incident.
Traffic on the highway was affected for some time. The incident occurred under Davanagere Rural police station limits.
