DAVANAGERE: A tanker carrying ethanol overturned into a ditch after the driver lost control on National Highway-48 near Apoorva Restaurant on the outskirts of the city on Saturday morning. The driver had a lucky escape as he jumped out of the vehicle.
As ethanol was spilling from the tanker, the Fire and Emergency Services personnel sprayed condensaton liquid and controlled the ethanol leak. Luckily, there was no untoward incident.
The tanker was carrying ethanol to industries in Bengaluru from Mumbai and had joined the fleet of a private company only a few days ago. The police later made use of a crane to lift the tanker. The incident occurred in Davanagere Rural police limits.
