BENGALURU: After buzz of a ‘November revolution’ in the Congress, there is now talk of a ‘December revolution’ within the BJP as the state president’s election nears. The state president B Y  Vijayendra, who has just completed two years in the post, is on high alert and has become proactive in party activities.

At the same time, he is quietly maneuvering to hold on to his position and is actively trying to win the confidence of senior party leaders.

Vijayendra met former Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda on Monday; the cordial meeting was touted as an effort to strengthen cooperation. This has led other leaders towards another dimension and created an opinion.

Starting this week the party has stepped up its organisational works and protests; district‑level meetings are being planned to energise the party workers and strategies are being drawn up to intensify protests during the upcoming legislative session.

For now, a temporary pause has been placed on internal discord and there is a plan to take advantage of the situation. Efforts are being made to send a message to the high command that there is no confusion or turmoil within the party.
