BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has allotted rental space to open a cafe at the Swami Vivekananda Metro station.
The cafe has been opened for the first time in the city on BMRCL premises. For the convenience of Metro passengers, the cafe has seating arrangements and a variety of eats. The BMRCL officials have planned to facilitate theatres and shopping complexes at many Metro stations to increase revenue.
The BMRCL has said that income from such commercial spaces is part of the non-fare revenue and it generates more income while offering convenience to Metro passenger at the same time. People are happy about the move of BMRCL and the opening of the cafe in the station.
“The new cafe at the Metro station will be helpful to people and passengers. People can have snacks, juices and beverages. The BMRCL has taken a good initiative”, said Ravi, a regular Metro commuter.
“The BMRCL has taken up a good initiative by renting space for cafes, as it will be convenient for Metro passengers. People will be tired, so cafes near the Metro station will provide a place for them to unwind”, said Ganesh Babu, another Metro passenger.
