SUV driver arrested by Maharashtra SIT after Rs 400 crore goes missing on Karnataka-Goa border

BELAGAVI: The driver involved in Sandeep’s kidnapping has been arrested in connection with the Rs 400 crore robbery case that occurred on October 10, 2025, on the Karnataka-Goa border. A SIT from Maharashtra has arrested the Toyota Fortuner driver, bringing the total number of arrested accused to seven.

The SIT team is interrogating the driver to find out why he kidnapped Sandeep Patil. The search for the main accused, Kishore and Azhar, is ongoing.

The case has taken a political turn, with allegations of a politician’s involvement. The SIT is investigating a viral audio conversation and looking into a Gujarat-based politician’s possible role in the case.

The investigation is exploring multiple angles, including a possible money exchange operation at an Ahmedabad ashram. The SIT is trying to identify the Gujarat-based politician and track down the missing money.
