MANGALURU: Sundar Gowda Bajil, a former supervisor at Netravati Bathing Ghat Information Centre, has made a shocking revelation about Chinnaiah, who had accused him of wrongdoing and later admitted to his false allegations. Sundar Gowda claimed that Chinnaiah had fallen prey to a conspiracy for money and had even begged for mercy during an SIT interrogation.

Speaking to Public TV, Sundar Gowda said that he was the supervisor at the Netravati Bathing Bhat Information Centre from 1996 to 2000. “At that time, Chinnaiah, his elder sister, elder brother, brother-in-law and sister-in-law were all doing sanitation work. Everything that Chinnaiah said was far from the truth. His intention was to tarnish the name of the place and to hatch a conspiracy”, he said.

According to Sundar Gowda, Chinnaiah’s accusations were baseless and part of a larger conspiracy to tarnish the reputation of Dharmasthala. He stated that Chinnaiah’s role was limited to shifting bodies to the car and accompanying the police to the hospital, and not burying them as claimed.

“He was working on shifting dead bodies to a car and going to the hospital with the police. He did not bury a single body. The SIT officials had called me. They said that the accused, Chinnaiah, had framed a case against me in the matter of burying the body. Chinnaiah and I were interrogated together for the second time. During the interrogation, he said that he was a victim of a conspiracy, and that he  did all this for the sake of money, he was wrong, and that he should be saved”, Sundar Gowda claimed.

Sundar Gowda alleged that Chinnaiah had been well taken care of by the group of conspirators with food, accommodation, salary and travel expenses. He believes that Chinnaiah was a victim of a gang’s conspiracy to defame the area and its revered leaders.

During the SIT interrogation, Sundar Gowda claimed that Chinnaiah had admitted to being a part of the conspiracy and had begged for forgiveness, saying that he had been tempted by money and that it was all a mistake.
