MANGALURU: Sujatha Bhat, who claimed that her daughter Ananya Bhat has been missing for nearly two decades, retracted and then reiterated her claim, appeared before the special investigation team at the Belthangady police station for the second day on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, she appeared at the police station as early as 5 am and, on her insistence, was subjected to preliminary questioning. On Wednesday, she was questioned by Investigating Officer Gunapal J, and claimed that influential people were behind the Ananya Bhat cas.
According to sources, Sujatha Bhat revealed names of a few people who are allegedly behind the conspiracy along with several other details. She is likely to be subjected to further questioning as regards the role of the people she mentioned in the Ananya Bhat case.
