BENGALURU: Communal tensions have gripped the coastal region after the murder of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty, sparking widespread outrage. The region had been relatively calm for some months now.
Hindu groups and the BP are enraged over the series of murders of their activists as the patience of workers is running thin. The BJP is gearing up for a massive campaign against the Congress-led state government.
The Suhas Shetty murder has given BJP further ammo against the government over the law and order situation and the targeted killing of Hindu activists. Protests are expected to be launched across the three districts of the coastal region, condemning the murders of BJP and Hindu activists.

On the other hand, to avoid any further controversy, Congress lawmakers and ministers have been advised to speak only with facts and figures and avoid making provocative statements. They have also been advised by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself not to get caught in the opposition’s allegations.

The meeting is likely to take place next week where past cases of communal clashes will be reviewed and officers will be instructed to be vigilant. The government is reportedly taking steps to address the situation and prevent further incidents by constituting a special task force.
