BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has begun preparations for drafting the budget for 2025-26, which will be presented next month, and is already being swamped with suggestions from citizens. These include issues related to roads, revenue collection and new projects.
The BBMP had invited suggestions from citizens for overall development of the city, which can be submitted till February 10. The civic body has already received thousands of suggestions, mostly related to potholes, garbage, asphalting of roads, maintaining cleanliness, property tax among others.
It is estimated that the budget outlay will be around Rs 11,000 crore. Speaking about it, Palike Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath said, “With focus on Brand Bengaluru, the BBMP plans to take up several projects. While it has already received suggestions on property tax rebate and cancellation of penalties, we also plans to make it easier to pay property tax by offering the service at BangaloreOne centres also”.
