MANDYA: Angry that his parents were informed about him not attending college properly, a student of a private college at Bellur in Nagamangala taluk threatened a lecturer with a sword.
The lecturer had apparently informed the parents of the student that he was irregular in class. Angered by this, the student walked into the laboratory with a sword and threatened the lecturer.
In a video, he can be heard arguing with the lecturer saying, “You called my folks at home and told them that I am not attending classes. Did you not sent me home?” When the lecturer replied that he had indeed sent the student home, he then questioned the lecturer, “Then how did you claim that I was not attending classes?”
After the incident, a case was registered at the Bellur police station and the student was let off after he gave a written apology and and undertaking that he would not indulge in such behaviour henceforth.
