HASSAN: A group of students allegedly partially stripped and thrashed a fellow student in the Gendekatte forest area on the outskirts of the city. Though no formal complaint has been lodged by either side, the police have questioned the youths involved.
The victim, Bharath, was allegedly assaulted by a group of students led by Punit and Sumant. The incident occurred when Bharath recorded a video of Sumant and his friend without their consent. When Bharath refused to delete the video, the group allegedly thrashed him and later stripped him naked in the forest.
A video of the assault was recorded and circulated on social media. The police have taken cognizance of the incident and are investigating the matter. The victim and the accused are reportedly students of different colleges in Hassan. The police have urged the public to come forward with any information that might help in the investigation.
