CHITRADURGA: A 23-year-old BAMS student died by suicide, allegedly due to harassment by her classmates and a professor’s wife, on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased Nikitha, from Holalkere in the district, was a final-year student at a private Ayurvedic college in Malladihalli.
Nikitha had reportedly been facing harassment from her classmates, who spread rumours about her alleged relationship with a professor, Dr Raju. In her suicide note, Nikitha accused her classmates of spreading false rumours and causing her immense distress. She also mentioned that Dr Raju’s wife had confronted her in front of others, adding to her humiliation.
The incident has shocked Nikitha’s family, who are now demanding justice. Her brother Nitin has urged the police to investigate and take strict action against those responsible.The police have registered a case, and an investigation is under way.
