CHIKKAMAGALUR: A street food vendor has lodged a complaint with the CEN police alleging that a misinformation campaign was being carried out against him in connection with an inter-faith marriage.

The complainant Mahesh runs a gobi manchurian stall and some Hindu activists had accused him of facilitating the marriage of a Hindu girl and a Muslim youth. They had even claimed that Mahesh had abetted ‘love jihad’.

Mahesh, in his complaint, has named Hindu activists Shyam, Sagar and a Bajrang Dal Facebook page. The Cyber, Economic, and Narcotics (CEN) police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
