RAICHUR: An unidentified person contacted jeweller posing as former CBI officer Subodh Kumar Jaiswal on phone and demanded money. The caller alleged that if money was not paid, he would leak a private video on social media.
It has come to light that gold merchant V Suresh was blackmailed by some unidentified miscreants. The caller claimed to be a CBI official and demanded one lakh rupees. A stranger attempted to cheat him in the name of former CBI officer Subodh Kumar Jaiswal.
Police said that the fraudster who threatened the jeweller by speaking in Hindi, misused Subodh Kumar’s ID card and photos to threaten the shop owner. A case has been registered in Raichur cyber crime police station.
