BENGALURU: The Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exams, which were held between March 31 to April 15 this year have witnessed at 83.85 pass percentage with four students scoring 625 marks. They are Bhumika Pai from New Macaulay English High School, Bengaluru, Yashas Gowda from Balagangadharanatha High School, Chikkaballapur, Anupama Srishail Hireholi from Kumareshwar High School, Saundatti and Bhimanagouda Hanumanthagouda Biradar Patil from Oxford English High School, Muddebihal, in Vijayapura district.
This time too, girls have outshone boys while rural and government school have fared well. Among students who scored centums include 14,983 in Kannada, 9,754 in English, 16,170 in Hindi, 2,132 in Mathematics, 983 in Science and 8,311 in Social Science.
This year, a total of 7,00,619 had appeared for the examination 3,41,108 were boys and 3,59,511 were girls. While the pass percentage among boys is 80.08 per cent, it is 83.98 per cent among girls. While 61,003 have secured A+ grade, 1,47,634 secured A grade, 1,75,489 got B+ grade, 1,70,296 got B grade, 1,16,819 secured C+ grade and 19,301 secured C grade.
Among schools which have registered 100 pass per centage include 1,517 government schools, 482 aided and 1,824 private schools, totalling 3,823 schools. Among those which have secured nil results include 11 aided schools and 34 private institutions. While government schools have recorded 86.74 pass per centage, aided schools registered 85.64 per centage and private schools 90.89 per cent.
Among the district, Chitradurga tops at 96.80 per cent, Mandya at 96.74 per cent and Hassan at 96.68 per cent while Yadgir is at the bottom of the table at 75.49 per cent. The pass per centage in rural areas is 87 per cent while it is 79.62 per cent in urban areas.
This year, 59,246 students who had scored minimum marks were awarded 10 grace marks. The last date to apply for photocopies is May 14 and the last date to apply for revaluation/recounting is May 21. The last date to enrol for the re-exam is May 15. The Principal Secretary to the School Education Department, Ritesh Singh and chairman of the Board, Ramachandran, announced the results.
