BENGALURU: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Sunday claimed that no state has been able to implement a majority of the guarantees within a short span of assuming power.

Reacting to the media on the Congress government completing the 100 days, he said, “Everybody is seeing how the government has been working over the 100 days. We have implemented five guarantees. No government has done this in the country, but more work needs to be done”.

The Deputy CM further said, “We are implementing the Gruha Lakshmi yojana later this month and the Yuva Nidhi scheme will be rolled out in December. The Shakti scheme, the Gruha Jyoti and Anna Bhagya schemes have already been implemented. The Congress government led by Siddaramaiah has fulfilled its promise. The government is celebrating a century today”.

On his meeting with minister Priyank Kharge issue, Shivakumar said, “We discussed the issues promised in the manifesto and about some programmes for Bengaluru. We are creating a wifi zone in the city. We are bringing laws to curb fake news. This law will be passed by the Home Department. Some fake news is being spread on social media, which is defaming some leaders. We will bring a law into effect soon to curb spread of fake news”.

On the investigation into allegations of 40 per cent commission and the alleged Covid scam during the previous BJP government, he said, “We have already set up committees for investigation. I will not talk about this, and the concerned person will speak”.
