BENGALURU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president B Y Vijayendra on Monday said, “When the state government has failed on all fronts and so many scams have emerged, it becomes the responsibility of the opposition party to bring it before the people of the state”.

Further, speaking on the protests in the Assembly, he said, “For the last month, the BJP in the state has been protesting and demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramiah for various reasons, including the scams in MUDA and the Maharshi Valmiki ST Development Corporation. We will take up this issue today or tomorrow”.

“As far as today is concerned, cases of dengue will be taken up. The state minister has not shown any concern and is busy sitting here. He is just sitting and doing video meetings”, Vijayendra said.

He further added that the issue of the floods is very important right now and the CM has not yet visited any homes of the people who suffered due to the floods. “The second issue we will be discussing is the floods. Yesterday, I visited the homes of people and four people lost their houses. The government have started giving the people Rs 5 lakh now. We are requesting the CM to give more money to the people. People lost their lives and houses in Uttara Kannada, but the CM has not visited a single house”, he said.

Further, he said that the state government needs to come to the rescue of the affected people. “My request to the government is that all the stakeholders need to be taken into consideration and the CM cannot take any decision alone”.

Vijeyndra also spoke on the CM’s decision over the Kannadiga reservation bill and said, “The CM took the decision by himself. The BJP welcomes the decision on the reservation. However, the doubt is whether the CM was serious about the decision. The only issue is that the CM has been trying to divert the issue amongst so many scams. Let the government extend the session and then we will talk on these issues”. (ANI)
