BENGALURU: Assembly Speaker U T Khader has revoked the suspension of 18 BJP MLAs. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Speaker and attended by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Leader of Opposition R Ashoka.
The suspension was imposed on March 21 based on a majority decision after BJP MLAs created a ruckus in the House and flung paper at the Speaker’s chair. BJP MLA Ashoka commented on the development, stating that the Speaker will issue the order after convening a meeting with officials on Monday, before proceeding for Haj pilgrimage.
The suspended MLAs are including Dr C N Ashwathnarayan (Malleswaram), S R Vishwanath (Yelahanka), Munirathna (RR Nagar), Byrathi Basavaraju (KR Pura), Suresh Gowda (Tumkur Rural), Chennabasappa (Shivamogga), C K Ramamurthy (Jayanagar), Dheeraj Muniraju (Doddaballapur), B P Harish (Harihara), Yashpal Suvarna (Udupi), Bharat Shetty (Mangaluru), Umanath Kotian (Mudabidri), M R Patil (Kundagol), Shailendra Beladale (Bidar South), Sharanu Salagar (Basavakalyana), Basavaraj Mattimud (Kalaburagi Rural), Chandru Lamani (Shirahatti) and Doddanogouda Patil (Kushtagi).

The Karnataka Speaker on March 21 suspended 18 BJP MLAs for six months for disrupting the proceedings of the Assembly. Dramatic scenes unfolded in the House, and visuals showed House marshals picking up BJP MLAs and carrying them outside the House.
