No officials have come to check on the condition of the arch and no one is maintaining it. Elected representatives come only during the election. When there is traffic congestion, many vehicles stand under the arch. The road median is also closed and and we need to travel a distance of 2 km distance take an U-turn. This is school zone and is dangerous for people. We have decided to boycott the upcoming election”.

Another local resident, Tara, claimed that BBMP has completely neglected its responsibilities.

Another local resident, Tara, said, “The election is near and there are no corporators to share our problems with. The arch was constructed 23 years ago, but it is completely dilapidated now. The authorities have completely neglected their responsibilities. This is the main road leading to Rajiv Gandhi hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital and Nimhans. Also, this is the prime junction and vehicles come from Koramangala, Wilson Garden, Lalbagh, and Jayanagar. Hence, the BBMP should take up its restoration work before some untoward incident happens”.
