MYSURU: Housing Minister V Somanna, who will be taking on Congress legislature party leader Siddaramaiah in Varuna Assembly segment, got down to business on Friday and started his campaign.
Somanna said they have put together a team to manage his campaign and that he will file his nomination papers from Varuna on April 17. Earlier, he attended a Satyanarayana puja at the residence of Kapu Siddalinga Swamy, a close aide of former CM B S Yediyurappa, and sought his support.
Somanna, accompanied by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, will visit Hosakote, Hadinaru, Hadinaru Mole, Suttur, Bilgili and other villages during the day. He said Yediyurappa, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will also visit the constituency.
