BELAGAVI: A soldier’s wife was assaulted by three people who even threw chilli powder into her eyes after she asked them to vacate their rented house. The incident was reported at Lakshemeshwara village in Mudalagi taluk four days ago.
The soldier’s wife Sangitha Mulimani and her aunt Mallavva Malige were injured in the attack and are undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Gokak Nagar.
Sangita Mulimani alleged that Santhosh Mali, who has taken her house on rent, Irayya Mathada and Bharati Mali assaulted her.
She and her husband Ashok Moolimani, who is serving in the Indian Army in Gwalior, live in the army quarters there.
Ashok Moolimani had rented out his house in Lakshemeshwara village to Santhosh Mali. Ashok plans to take voluntary retirement next year and settle in his home town. Hence, Sangita had come down to the village to ask Santhosh to vacate the house for them.
