An ambulance carrying the techie got stuck at an underpass.

BENGALURU: A software engineer who was seriously injured in a road accident lost his life as the ambulance could not reach a hospital in time. The accident occurred at Judicial Layout in Yelahanka around 10.45 pm on Wednesday.

Software engineer Anand (35), who worked at Manyata Tech Park, was riding his bike around on Wednesday night when he lost control and crashed into a divider near the Airport Road. Anand suffered severe head injuries and lay bleeding on the road.

Locals called an ambulance, which arrived within 15 minutes, but it couldn’t reach the accident spot due to a railway underpass nearby, which blocked the ambulance’s path. The ambulance was forced to stop, and the injured Anand was shifted to another car, and then to the ambulance. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during the process.

Eyewitness Venkatesh stated that if the ambulance had reached the spot on time, Anand might have survived. He blamed the railway underpass for delaying the ambulance’s arrival, saying that if it had reached the spot directly, Anand’s life could have been saved.
