YADGIR: The Yadgir police have arrested two youths for posting inflammatory and provocative videos on social media calling for beheading of ‘kafirs’. The arrested youths are Akbar Syed Bahadur (23) and M D Ayaz (21) of Yadgir town.

The duo was arrested by the Yadgir police.

On Tuesday, X user, @AshwiniSahaya, posted the video and wrote, “He is Syed Ali Akbar Jagirdar (syeds_jagirdar_v18), a popular influencer from congress ruled Karnataka, urging his community members to kill Kafirs (non-muslims) . “Behead those who abuse prophet”; “as per Quran only place for Kafirs is hell”; “kill hindu men in interfaith relationship with Muslim women” says Syed Ali in his viral videos”.

In the video, the influencer can also be heard saying, “If you are really men, come to the field for 15 minutes”. He is also heard saying, “Those who oppress Muslims, those who target Muslims, fly as much as you can in this world itself. The last place for a kafir is jahannum”.

Neeraj Atri, president of National Centre for Historical Research and Comparative Studies, Chandigarh, and the writer of ‘Brainwashed Republic’, reacted to it on X saying, “It seems all Maulana, Muftis, Ãlims & terrorists are reading a different Quran as compared to our PM @narendramodi. Either all of them have been reading wrong Quran for 1400 years or our PM is wrong. Who will decide this?” and tagged @PMOIndia and @HMOIndia.

Following this, the Karnataka police, on their X handle, noted, “FIR has been registered in @YadgirPolice Yadgiri Town PS. Accused have been arrested and further investigation is being carried out”. The arrested duo have been booked under Sections 153 and 505/2 of the IPC.
