CHIKKAMAGALUR: Unidentified cow smugglers slit the udder of a native cow and left it to die, at Thimmihalli in Kadur taluk on Monday. The incident occurred on the farm of one Shekarappa who own 20 cows. The cows were tethered in a shed with chickens.
The cow smugglers gained entry by cutting the barbed wire fence and tried to smuggle the cows. When they couldn’t, they slit the udder of a cow and fled.
It is suspected that the act was committed with the help of a local. The Yagati police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the smugglers.
