Six police teams probing source of gelatin sticks, detonators found at Kalasipalya bus stand

BENGALURU: A day after six gelatin sticks and detonators were found at the Kalasipalya bus stand, the city police have formed six teams to investigate the incident. The gelatin sticks are believed to have been manufactured in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu.

The police teams are coordinating with the Central Crime Branch, the Intelligence wing and the Anti-Terrorism Squad to gather information about who purchased the gelatin sticks and for what purpose. So far, they have identified the person who brought the explosive to the bus stand based on CCTV footage.

On Wednesday, the gelatin sticks and detonators were found by the attendant of a public toilet at the Kalasipalya bus stand, who immediately informed the police. The explosives were kept in a plastic cover. The police have registered a case under various sections of the Explosives Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is under way.
