BENGALURU: A special investigation team (SIT), which is investigating the cases related to caste abuse, threats and sexual assault against RR Nagar BJP MLA Munirathna Naidu, on Saturday conducted searches at 11 locations including his residence and office at Vyalikaval, Yeshwantpur and Kaggalipura.

The raids were led by Deputy SP Kavitha and the forensic team collected evidence from the residence and office. They also collected certain documents and recorded the statements of a few people. Police Superintendent Sowmyalatha also visited the MLA’s house in Vyalikaval.

The SIT had earlier secured a body warrant against Munirathna, who is in judicial custody, and had questioned him. While a BBMP contractor had lodged complaints of caste abuse and death threats, a woman had lodged a complaint of sexual assault and her statement was recorded before a magistrate under Section 164.
