MANGALURU: In a new turn in the Dharmasthala alleged mass burials case, the conspiracy was likely hatched in Bengaluru. The SIT has brought masked man Chinnaiah from Beltangady to Bengaluru for further spot investigation. Chinnaiah’s statement revealed some crucial locations, which the SIT is now verifying.

The investigation has taken a significant turn, with suspicions arising about Thimarodi’s close associate Jayanth’s involvement in the conspiracy. Chinnaiah allegedly mentioned Jayanth’s name during interrogation, leading the SIT to conduct a raid on Jayanth’s house at Mallasandra in Bengaluru. Initially, it was said that Chinnaiah may be taken to Tamil Nadu and Mandya.

In a related development, SIT has given relief to Sujatha Bhat, deciding not to take her into custody due to her age and health issues. She is accused of providing false information, but the SIT believes that the case does not warrant arrest at this stage. She has narrated her own story, but has not directly and specifically accused anyone. When no one listened to his problem, she raised the issue of his daughter. Then the conspirators  decided to use Sujatha Bhatt for their own benefit.

Also, during the interrogation, it was found that her family property belongs to Dharmasthala. She has cried that if she gets money from it now, it will help her to lead her life. The SIT has decided not to take custody or arrest her for now because it is not a case warranting arrest under very serious sections.
