BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s grandson, Dhawan Rakesh, is likely preparing to enter politics. He has been sharing the stage with Siddaramaiah several times, hinting at his political debut. Siddaramaiah has also given his nod for Dhawan’s entry into politics.
Recently, Rakesh took to social media to announce that he would follow in Rahul Gandhi’s footsteps. He posted about his meeting with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying it was a unique experience.
Rakesh recalled meeting and stated, “Politics is a part of my life’s background, and it’s true. Meeting Rahul Gandhi was a truly different experience. I spoke with him for a few moments. I had also told him about the immense respect I have for him. I want to stand with Rahul Gandhi as a student and later as a lawyer”.
Dhawan wrote on his Instagram handle, “I was fortunate enough to meet our opposition leader, Sri Rahul Gandhi, on August 8. My grandfather recognized how much I respect honest leaders and wanted me to meet him”.
“Honesty is mostly ignored in this political arena. In a field where honesty is often overlooked, I wanted to meet a leader who tries to be honest and who is true to their beliefs. It’s true that politics is a part of my life’s background, and Rahul Gandhi’s commitment to his principles despite opposition is inspiring”.
Dhawan further shared, “Meeting him was a unique experience. We spoke for a while, and I expressed my deep respect for him. As a student and later as a lawyer, I want to stand with him and follow in his footsteps. Now, we all need to think a little more carefully. We need to respect leaders who lead the country with truth, integrity and transparency. Rahul Gandhi engages openly with the public and media, and I believe we should do the same. I’m always open to honest dialogue”.
Rakesh’s posts have sparked speculation about his imminent entry into politics, with many expecting him to join the Congress party.
