Siddaramaiah may rethink contesting from Kolar

BENGALURU: Opposition leader Siddaramaiah, who had expressed his interest in contesting from Kolar may be having second thoughts ever since the BJP announced that Housing Minister V Somanna was announced as candidate from Varuna constituency.

Siddaramaiah had expressed his intention to contest from Kolar and a second constituency, but was advised by the high command to stick to Varuna segment. During his second meeting with Rahul Gandhi recently, Siddaramaiah is learnt to have said that he may not want to contest from Kolar and suggested that they wait till April 15 when things become more clearer.

Sources indicated that Siddaramaiah may be having a rethink on contesting from Kolar after the BJP queered the pitch for him in Varuna where his presence will now be required.
