MANDYA: In the second such incident in two days, the body of a woman was found cleaved in half in the Chikka Devaraja canal at Arakere village in Srirangapatna taluk.
The victim is believed to aged around 40-45 and the body was found cut in half at the waist with the legs tied. The body was found by a man who was fishing in the canal.
Only on Tuesday, the body of another woman, aged around 30-31, was found cut in half in a canal at Baby village in Pandavapura taluk.
The shocking murders have created a sense of fear among the villagers. Separate cases have been registered at the Pandavapura and Arekere police stations.
