Shivamogga SP G K Mithun Kumar celebrated Deepavali with colleagues, exchanged wishes

SHIVAMOGGA:  Working round the clock is nothing new for the police force. But during the time of festivals, their absence makes a difference to their families. While most of people were spending quality time with their families and friends on Deepavali, the Shivamogga police celebrated it on the roads as they were out in full force, specially following incidents of violence over the last few days.

The Shivamogga police have been spending many sleepless nights for the last one year due to sensitive cases. This year too, the police were busy with patrol duty. Amid all this, they celebrated this year’s Deepavali with colleagues at Shivappa Nayak Circle on Wednesday, by lighting oil lamps, bursting firecrackers and distributing sweets.

Shivamogga SP G K Mithun Kumar personally participated in the celebrations by lighting the lamp and exchanging the wishes. Traffic Police Inspector Santosh Kumar had organised the celebrations.

The SP, speaking during the celebrations, said, “The police department is always on duty 24 hours a day. None of our personnel were able to go home. We usually celebrate the festival where we are deployed. This has become routine for us.  So we celebrated the festival on the road itself.”
