BENGALURU: Following the gruesome murder of Mahalakshmi in Vyalikaval, the police have intensified their investigation. On Tuesday, they also received the post-mortem report. Meanwhile, the police have discovered several fingerprints on the fridge in which Mahalakshmi’s body was cut into pieces and stacked and have sought information from forensic (FSL) experts. This raises questions about whether there was one or more accused involved in Mahalakshmi’s murder.

The Vyalikaval police questioned the brother of the accused on Monday in Bengaluru. The brother provided crucial information during the two-hour interrogation, including details about the accused’s phone call after the murder. The accused had chopped Mahalakshmi’s body into 30 pieces and then called her brother.

It’s also been revealed that the accused had quit his job six months ago, where he and Mahalakshmi worked together at a clothing store in Malleswaram. He had a suspicion that the victim was maintaining distance from him after he quit the job. The two had frequent quarrels and preliminary investigations suggest the accused committed the gruesome murder due to their strained relationship, police sources said.
