BENGALURU: The city, once known as the Garden City, has transformed into a concrete jungle due to rapid development. To revive its green cover, the state government is planning to create tree parks in social forest areas.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has initiated a major project to develop tree parks, aiming to restore Bengaluru’s status as the Garden City. The plan involves identifying seven large social forest areas in the city and developing them into tree parks with walking paths, providing citizens with fresh air.
The Deputy CM has held discussions with the Environment Minister, and experts like botanist Keshav are already working on creating a tree forest in Turahalli.
This initiative aims to bring back greenery and provide a healthier environment for Bengaluru’s residents.
